A Magical Week on Camano Island: Experience the Northwest Glass Quest

Every February, Camano Island transforms into a treasure hunter’s paradise for the annual Northwest Glass Quest, a beloved event that draws locals and visitors alike to search for hidden glass balls across the island and nearby Stanwood. Whether you’re a seasoned Quest participant or a first-time explorer, this event is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the beauty, community, and adventure that Camano Island has to offer.

What is the Northwest Glass Quest?

The Northwest Glass Quest is a unique, family-friendly treasure hunt that takes place over ten days in February. Participants search for “Clue Balls” hidden in parks, businesses, and public spaces. If you find one, you can exchange it for an exquisite, handcrafted glass float made by local artists.

This exciting event is modeled after the traditional glass floats that once washed ashore in the Pacific Northwest from Japanese fishing boats. Today, artists create stunning, colorful glass balls, making them a coveted prize for lucky searchers.
