Camano Island Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Court Raises Money for Local Charities
The Season of Giving
As the holidays quickly approach, it is a time of year when many people focus on giving and helping out local charities and people in need in their communities. Camano Island’s tennis and pickleball players have been able to help benefit the community through their small donations each time they play at a resident’s personal court.
Camano Island’s Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Facility
As pickleball has earned its spot as Washington’s official sport, the use of this private facility has proven to be a very popular spot on Camano. Offering room for playing both tennis and pickleball, being fully enclosed and lit, as well as being conveniently located on the North end of Camano, this court gets a ton of use!
It is privately owned, located just off of the Brentwood neighborhood where the owners’ residence sits. It is part of the same property with the home but has a completely separate entrance. This helps the owners feel comfortable offering the space up for others to come play while still maintaining their privacy at home.

Benefits to the Local Community
They have been offering this space up for friends and acquaintances to use since it was built in 2018 and have only asked for donations in exchange for use of the court. They ask for $5 per person per two hour time slot for pickleball and $10 per person per two hour slot for tennis. A small amount of the money goes toward maintenance, with the rest being donated to local charities. The court is provides such a great spot to play either pickleball or tennis in any season regardless of weather or daylight. It’s such a great facility to be able to provide our community with this space, along with the ability to have it help raise money for local needs.
Last year alone they were able to donate a total of $8,000 to three local charities: Meals on Wheels on Camano, Stanwood-Camano Food Bank, and Safe Harbor Free Medical Clinic in Stanwood.
This Property is Currently For Sale

The owners are currently offering this property for sale but have plans in the works for a new court nearby. They are hoping to find a buyer who would love to continue on with the use of the court as it is now until the new facility is built. The property is a total of 4.03 Acres, with the 6,551 sq ft house sitting at the top of the Brentwood neighborhood. The grandness of the home and the views from nearly every angle are purely magnificent. To top it all off, the roof of the the tennis court building is the home to 168 solar panels! The panels produce annually an average of 50,000 kilowatt hours, enough power to pay the PUD bill for the court as well as the owners’ two residences. Additionally, the owner receives around $4,000 back from PUD annually as a production incentive!
